pyro2GAS : Erneuerbare Gase aus flüssigen Zwischenprodukten der Pyrolyse von organischen Roh- und Reststoffen

Pyrolysis is a promising technology for sustainable carbon supply and waste reduction, producing solid, gaseous and liquid renewable carbon products. The pyro2GAS project has two objectives: A) to expand the data basis on influencing variables in the production of pyrolysis oils through basic research and B) to test utilization pathways of liquid pyrolysis products into renewable gases, especially in concept development.

In a first step (WP1), various raw and residual materials will be pyrolysed and the products characterized. Liquid, solid and gaseous products are recorded in order to create energy and mass balances. In the second step (WP2), three utilization paths for renewable gas production are evaluated: a) reforming of the liquid fractions on catalytic and non-catalytic carrier materials, b) microbiological utilization and c) potential analysis of the fractions for aqueous phase reforming.
